GPAI Tick and Tally: Badminton
  • evaluation done by teacher
  • recording procedure: use a tally to mark the appropriate categories
  • even if the students are not skilled at badminton they can still obtain recognition for their effort
Categories for evaluation using the Appropriate (A)/Inappropriate (IA) and Efficient (E)/Inefficient (IE) criteria.
        
        1.  Decision Making (with Birdie) - Criteria
                *Player attempts make thier shot as dificult as possible for the other team to return
                *Player attempts hit the bird over the net/attack/score
                *Player makes an appropriate shot considering where their opponents are placed on the court
       
        2.  Skill Execution (with Birdie) - Criteria
                *Reception - Players with the correct footwork should be able to postion themselves appropriately on                         the court to recieve the birdie
                *Reception - Players should be able to reiceve any type of shot
                *Return - birdie reaches target with appropriate weight, accuracy

        3.  Adjust (Player with Birdie) - Criteria
                *Use effective communication with partner to cover the court
                *Adjust body to appropriate receiving position
                *Return to ready position in preparation for next play
                *Effective use of front and back or side to side strategy
